Traditionally, table lamps comprised of a wooden or ceramic base and fabric shade. However, lighting has now become a far more creative feature in interior design as shapes and materials are becoming more modern and experimental.
1.House Doctor Globe Duo table lamp – £160
This bold Scandinavian lamp has an eclectic design. The two handmade globe shades, one in opaque white and the other a smoky grey are reminiscent of art deco design, while the brass stand gives the lamp a sophisticated, modern look. This is a lovely statement piece for a living room or bedroom.

2.John Lewis Terrazzo ceramic table lamp – £25
Add a pop of colour to your table or desk with this stylish Terrazzo table lamp. As you will know if you read y blog, Terrazzo is bang on trend this year! The ceramic base is finished with a colourful, flecked matt pattern, and will be best accentuated with a striking feature bulb. Understated and modern, these lamps will work brilliantly with neutral decor.
At just £25 with a 5 year guarantee, how can you resist!

3.Made.com Chicago table lamp – £79
Inspired by film sets from days gone by, this lamp is a modern take on vintage Hollywood glamour. The bulb faces inwards and reflects off the painted silver lining in the shade, creating a broad and warm illuminating effect. It is the perfect way to light up your room in style – whether you’re after an industrial edge or a more vintage feel.

4.Maisons du monde Richy lamp – £89.99
Simple yet sophisticated, the Richy metal and glass lamp screams minimalist chic. I adore the delicate structure of this redesigned architect’s lamp, which shows that unfussy materials can still be sophisticated. Sat on a wood and metal desk, this industrial-inspired lamp will transform your workspace into a proper studio.

5.Cloudberry Living Night Owl Table lamp – £168
Lightyears Night Owl table lamp is a cute little lamp with tons of personality. Designed by Nicolai Wiig Hansen in 2016, he wanted to create a real Nordic style lamp that had warmth and informality to its form. It produces a wonderful wash of downwards light to give it a special warm glow. This Scandi lamp is ideal for all uses from bedroom to work space to living area.
Although it comes with a hefty price tag, the sleek Scandi style is well worth it!

6.Habitat Ribbon Gunmetal Small Metal Table Lamp – £95
This lamp is a small version of the award-winning Ribbon sculptural metal table lamp in a gunmetal finish. Inspired by the shapes that are created when a ribbon is in movement, the form of the Ribbon lamp was developed through an exploration of origami and paper crafts. The small table lamp designed exclusively for Habitat by Claire Norcross is also great for use as a bedside lamp. Available in two sizes and a number of finishes.

7.Cuckooland Dutchbone Cubo Brass Table Lamp – £109
Simplicity at its best, the Cubo Brass Table Lamp from Dutchbone is the best way to brighten that dingy corner. The combination of the unique iron shade with a stunning matte brass colour finish and the black marble base gives this lamp an effortlessly chic look that will add character to any room. Pop in a vintage style bulb for a real on-trend look that is sure to be a statement wherever you place it and with a matching pendant light, it’s ideal if you’re looking for a complimentary lighting scheme.

8.Made.com Collet Table Lamp Brass – £69
This lamp truly has the Wow-factor! It’s fun, it’s fancy and it won’t break the bank. The Collet table lamp features a slick chrome exterior and painted white lining. Its oversized dome shade mirrors its surroundings to truly fit in with your room. Using a nifty pull cord switch that works effortlessly with the rest of the design, a statement piece like Collet should take centre-stage in your lounge.

9.Cult Furniture Linear Metal Table Lamp – £39
The Linear desk lamp has been crafted from durable metal in a mirrored black finish. The table light features a square base and a smooth tube, reminiscent of a pipe, which leads to the light bulb. This creates a contemporary industrial look and adds a unique edge to your bedroom or home study. Also available in brushed brass or copper finishes, it’s a piece that demands attention and creates a distinctive vision in your chosen room.

10.Lime Lace Barcelona Table Lamp – £67.50
Bring some sophisticated Danish design to your home with this sleek Barcelona Table Lamp by Dyberg Larsen. A classic & stylish design which oozes contemporary sophistication with an Art Deco twist. The Table Lamp is elegant yet simple and would look great on a sideboard or bedside table. The classic globe shape looks fabulous in a modern or contemporary home but works equally well alongside more traditional decor.

Which of the table lamps is your favourite? I think mine would have to be the Chicago lamp from Made.com. However, I recently worked on an install with Erika Interiors and she had used the Richy lamp from Maisons du Monde in the master bedroom. The lamp looks even better in real life and is a lot bigger than it looks online – it is a real statement piece.

Oh wow, these are all gorgeous! I now immediately want to replace all my boring lamps with these cool, quirky ones! I think my favourite is the Richy lamp, although I’m also a big fan of the Habitat Ribbon lamp, I honestly wouldn’t have even guessed it was a light at first haha! The Scandi style of the Cloudberry lamp is also dreamy. So many great options here!
