All You Need To Know About Gnomo, Valencia

Masquespacio’s interior design project for Gnomo mixes bold geometry, graphical elements and fun colours to create a quirky, modern feel.

Gnomo offer everything you need for your contemporary survival: from a ring to a shelf, to house plants. They sell a diverse, eclectic collection of products with a distinct retro vibe. Masquespacio wanted to capture the 80’s eclectic feel within the interior and exterior of the store.

Masquespacio decided to maintain the eighties aspect from the space, adding a contemporary touch to it.

“Taking in count that Gnomo sells different kind of objects from a wide set of brands, it was important to create a funny and happy feeling, but without creating a visual disorder.”

Ana Hernández, Creative director of Masquespacio

Masquespacio’s intention was to create a versatile frameworks for Gnomo’s store so they could change the product exhibition at any time depending on the products on sale. They have done so with beautiful results.

I personally love the geometric frames as they are so unique and make a strong statement. The pastel colours really pop against the black and white canvas.

Clean white walls and an industrial granite floor are contrasted by black geometric shelves and wall hangings. The addition of uplifting colours, like a turquoise iron stairs and a blue ceiling make it fun and playful. The pops of yellow are very eye catching too.

Upside down U-shaped chandeliers hang from the ceiling and give a bold, modern feel to the interiors. Behind the counter there’s a wall of plants attached to the light poles, that help to breathe life to the pace, adding an organic element.

In the photo below, a different collection of products have been displayed, proving the spatial elements can be adapted. However, the interior keeps it’s cool, quirky vibe. I love the use of levels here as it helps to create depth and interest.

I think the image below is my favourite styling shot, I love the reflection in the mirror as it adds another layer to the image.
