Interior Trends for Spring/ Summer 2018

It’s time for another trend roundup post! The previous Autumn/Winter 2017 post was so successful, I thought I’d write one for Spring/Summer too!

It may still be dark and dingy, but we have so much colour and texture to look forward to this spring and summer. This time, I have looked at Maisons du Monde for inspiration as they have 6 modern trends that will appeal to almost everyone. Below, you’ll find a guide of watch trend as well as a board of my favourite products.

Golden Oasis

Find tranquility on summer nights in a sandy sanctuary. The Golden Oasis trend fills the home with a warm glow but keeps cool and calm with neutral desert shades. Add some bohemian accents to really make this trend more authentic.

Macrame, fringing, and tassels are huge features for this trend, you’ll see them on cushions, wall hangings, throws, rugs and accessories. This trend will add a wonderful handmade quality to each room of your house and create a beautiful tactile feel.

Green Market

Grab baskets of freshness from the Green Market trend inspired by all the fruit, veg and foliage found on local market stalls this time of year. Think natural woods, black details and plenty of foliage. A wholesome way to update your home.

House plants are key to nailing this trend in your home. With increasing news of health benefits, the humble houseplant is fast becoming the must-have buy for our homes. And it seems the more the merrier, so pop down to your local garden centre and invest in some stunning plants.

Cabane

Can’t wait to kick back and relax? Create a little seaside paradise just for you with Cabane, a trend to unwind with. Think natural touches, fish motifs and blue and white splashes.

Rattan furniture and accessories are crucial elements to this style, and they also help to add texture and depth to the scheme. The blue and green tones help to add a sense of serenity which is sure to help you relax this summer.

Suzon

Show your home some love with something sweet. The Suzon trend is full of classic charm; floral motifs and pretty pastels to put a spring in your step and help you blossom this season.

Pastel colours are going to be a huge trend in both interiors and fashion this year, but there’s no reason to wait until spring, start investing in key pieces now and get ahead of the crowd. The Suzon trend is the perfect excuse to do some retail therapy!

Hacienda

Add some South American inspired flair to your home with the Hacienda trend. It’s easy to adopt the siesta lifestyle through earthy additions, geometric prints and rattan accessories.

Natural weaves and tassels are updated with bright reds, oranges and yellows in this trend. Like the Golden Oasis trend mentioned earlier, Haceinda has a wonderful tactile quality which definitely adds to its appeal.

Sweet Tropical

Liven up your home with the taste of summer. The Sweet Tropical trend is bursting with a festival of bold colours, playful shapes and botanical prints to help inject some pool party fun into your home and garden. Think bold green leaves with pops of Neon.

You can easily go overboard on colour with this trend. To keep the look clean, you can manage the colour by having one or two main colours to start with that ‘ground’ the rest of the look. Take a look below for some eye catching colours and tropical prints.

What do you think of these 6 trends for Spring/Summer 2018? Personally, I’m excited to see all the new products on the market and the bold new style ideas.

The Green Market idea is the most appealing to me as it is the most versatile look out of the six. I love the monochromatic blacks and whites paired with black and pops of natural green. Which one is your favourite? Join the discussion in the comments below ↓
