As the nights are drawing in, this is the perfect time cuddle up on your sofa with a Netflix show to binge. When I got Netflix a couple of years ago, I was pleasantly surprised with the amazing interior design content on there. From design shows that have already been on UK TV to Netflix Original series, there is plenty of interior inspiration and home decor ideas for you to see.
Here are my top 5 Interior Design shows on Netflix, that I think you’ll enjoy too!
Amazing Interiors
Amazing Interiors showcases eccentric homeowners whose seemingly ordinary spaces are full of surprises, from a backyard roller coaster to an indoor aquarium. There are a few homes that didn’t strike me as amazing – the house of dictators was plain weird and the Technicolor House nearly gave me a migraine. But the majority will definitely make you say wow!
Keep an eye out for the waterfall house, it blew my mind!

Stay Here
Netflix Original series ‘Stay Here’ features designer Genevieve Gorder and real estate expert Peter Lorimer showing property owners how they can turn their rentals into moneymaking showstoppers. They consider decor styles and local attractions when designing their space. It’s really made me want to own a holiday rental property now…
If you can get over the way that Peter pronounces ‘water’ in episode 1, you are in for a treat with the rest of the series. You can find out how to rent out the homes from the show, including the stunning boho-inspired Seattle houseboat, here.

The Great Interior Design Challenge
The Great Interior Design Challenge is a BBC show that has recently been put onto Netflix. A trio of amateur designers are let loose in different homes in various parts of Britain to transform a similar room in each home. These homes are based on their own tastes and a brief from the owner. Professional judges, Daniel Hopwood and Sophie Robinson, choose one of the three as the “winner,” who goes on to the next round of challenges.
While there are some very questionable designs, it’s definitely worth a watch!

The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes
This property series follows award-winning architect Piers Taylor and actress and property enthusiast Caroline Quentin as they discover the world’s most extraordinary abodes. The pair travel far and wide, across mountains, through forests, along coasts and deep underground to find unique properties.
It’s an awe-inspiring journey across the globe that is bursting with architecture and interior inspiration. Look out for the Piha beach house in season 1, it’s truly beautiful!

Tiny House Nation
While travelling the US, host John Weisbarth and design expert Zack Giffin help families create customised mini homes to suit their design taste and lifestyle. This feel-good interior design reality show is full of emotion and packed with beautiful designs. I’m sure it’ll give you inspiration for your own home, no matter what the size.

Dream Home Makeover
Dream Home Makeover follows Shea and Syd McGee (of Studio McGee) as they help dreams come true for real families looking to update their home tailored to their own unique style. A typical episode has the couple working with a client on a renovation project in their home. Each project that is featured is unique and stunning. It’ll give you so much inspiration, you’ll want to redecorate your whole house! The show also documents the McGee’s idyllic home life too. I’ve particularly enjoyed seeing Shea and Syd make renovations on their own ‘dream home.’
Selling Sunset
Selling real estate in the Los Angeles market can be glorious, given the area’s sunny location and an abundance of the rich and famous living there. It can also be cutthroat as agents fight over clients and properties. ‘Selling Sunset’ showcases the drama at The Oppenheim Group, where elite real estate brokers sell the luxurious life to their affluent buyers. Although this isn’t strictly an interior design show, you still get the chance to see some truly awesome homes!
